The St. Marys College Governors Cup (Annapolis route) is the longest and oldest overnight race on Chesapeake Bay that started in Annapolis earlier on Friday afternoon and finishes on Saturday when the yachts arrive at the end line at SMCM.
The race this year was mainly challenging because of wind and rain. None the less, Skipper Scott Ward and his crew were able to brave out the storm and bring Crocodile to the end before 81 other contestants.
Avian, a Patuxent Partnership member, sponsors Crocodile and the races it takes part. The Patuxent Partnerships Executive Director Bonnie Green told that the company is very pleased to present the TPP trophy 2014 to Scott as well as the Avian team.  It is great to their members taking part in so many different activities within the community.  The Governors Cup is just one more example of Avians commitment to workforce retention and community involvement.
